- Pie warmers, microwaves, sandwich presses & washing facilities
Fancy a bacon & egg sandwich before you hit the slopes? No worries!
Mount Hutt Ski Club is situated right in the base area of the Mt Hutt resort with all the mountains facilities just a few strides away.
Designed to cater for families who are passionate about the mountains, the two story club house contains two large & heated lounges, each with its own kitchen, equipped with micro wave ovens, sandwich makers and pie warmers.
There’s an abundance of ski storage racks and lockers available for season long hire as well as free boot drying rooms available to all members.
“Warm dry boots waiting for you each morning, you can’t beat it!”
The club only takes in as many members as the club rooms can support so you’ll never have to hunt for a seat or feel you have to rush your lunch so someone else can sit down; there’s plenty of room for everyone!
It’s not just about saying hi to the same people each weekend or sharing an epic story from your last run. Its about going for a social ski with someone the same level as you, or your watching your kids build a snowman with new friends they’ve made during the school holidays. There’s far more to be had in the mountains than just sliding on them.
As a members only club, your belongings are safer here than out on the mountain. Our members know each other and everyone looks out for each other, but if you really want to secure your valuables, there are lockers for hire for the whole season.
Some of our members have been a part of the mountain for many years and are always willing to share their knowledge of the best runs, whatever the weather or conditions. Want to explore the South face with someone who knows how low is too low? There’ll be someone in the club who’ll show you the way.
Each year, we negotiate with Mt Hutt to have our own parking area in the top car park. They won’t hold it for us all day of course, but it can often be the difference between walking to your boots and busing to your boots!
Children who grow up in a ski club environment are more likely to take on and understand the mountain code than those who just ski around by themselves every day. Keeping your kids safe on the hills takes more than just teaching them to control their chosen ride. A club environment gives them the opportunity to explore and learn about the mountain with other, like minded and experienced members.
Team Hutt offers excellent coaching and racing programmes for our younger members, taking them from 7yrs on wards.
Their selection of courses run throughout the season and while many have a large racing influence, many also cover all mountain skiing.
Team Hutt the ski racing division of Mt Hutt Ski Club, run and administered separately to the club by the Trustees of CAST [Canterbury Alpine Sports Trust].
Mt Hutt Ski Club is a non profit organisation run by its members, for its members.
During the winter, everyone is expected to chip in and help with everything from daily clean ups to club security.
The kitchens and facilities are available for everyone to use and we take pride in the fact that they are always well looked after by our members.
